Privacy Policy for CleanShot Effective date: June 2, 2026 CleanShot is designed to work entirely on your device. When you use the extension, it processes the current page screenshot only in order to save the image to the folder you choose. Screenshots are handled locally on your computer and are not transmitted to us or to any third party. The extension does not collect or store browsing history, location data, authentication information, payment information, personal communications, or other personal data on our servers. CleanShot stores only the information it needs to function locally in your browser. This includes the folder handle you select so the extension can save future screenshots to the same folder, your preference settings such as contrast enhancement and cinematic-bar cropping, and a small temporary local message used to show folder-access recovery status inside the popup. These values are stored using Chrome’s local storage and IndexedDB and remain on your device. We do not use analytics, advertising trackers, or remote code, and we do not sell, share, or otherwise transfer your data. Saved screenshots remain in the folder you selected until you delete them yourself. You can remove the extension or clear its extension data in Chrome at any time to remove the locally stored settings and folder information.
